We know you might like to have either an early check in or a late check out, so get in touch with our Front Desk and they will make the required arrangements. Don’t forget, subject to availability and a nominal fee may apply.
Is there a wifi connection?
WiFi is available in all areas and is free of charge.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are not allowed. However, please note that the owners have two hypoallergenic small dogs that do not shed and live in the house.
Are there private parking facilities available?
There are no private parking spaces, but public parking is available nearby.
Is the air conditioning in the rooms?
Yes, all guest rooms are equipped with air conditioning for your comfort. Please note that excessive usage may incur an additional charge, so we kindly ask you to turn it off when leaving the house.
Is breakfast included?
Breakfast is included. For bookings made before April 1, 2025, breakfast can be booked separately on-site.
Can I book a transfer to/from the airport?
Yes, you can book a reliable taxi transfer with us for just €22 per way. Please note that this is subject to availability, so we recommend booking in advance.
What payment options are available?
You can pay cash on site,by banktransfer or with Visa& Mastercard either in advance or upon arrival.
Is there a loyalty program?
Yes, we offer various loyalty programs. Please ask for Steph when you are on-site.
Do you offer freediving, scuba diving, or tech diving
Yes! We arrange beginner and professional courses with PADI and SSI.
Additionally, we’re happy to organize various dive trips, ensuring you receive only high-quality diving experiences.
There are no extra costs for you when we arrange your diving adventure.
Do you offer yoga?
Yes! We’re delighted to offer yoga sessions on our rooftop terrace from April to November. During the rest of the year, sessions depend on the weather.
Can we bring food and drinks from outside to our hotel rooms and rooftop terrace?
Yes, you can. Please be mindful that our townhouse welcomes guests from various nations and cultures. We kindly ask that your actions remain respectful and do not disturb others.
Can we have a party in our hotel room or on the rooftop terrace?
There is no simple YES or NO to this question. Please reach out to us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

How is the guests and visitors policy?
All guests must be registered at reception.
Visitors must be registered before being brought to your room or the rooftop terrace and may not stay overnight without prior approval.
If we find unregistered guests or visitors on the premises, we reserve the right to cancel your entire booking/group booking without a refund.

When is breakfast served?
We serve breakfast at the following times:
- Monday – Friday: 8:00 – 10:00
- Weekends & Public Holidays (Malta):8:00 – 11:00

Is the Backstage townhouse wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, our 200-year-old townhouse has a narrow and winding layout, with all rooms only accessible by stairs. Therefore, it is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Yes! We guarantee the best price. If you find a lower price elsewhere, we will refund you the difference.
To claim the refund, please send us a screenshot of the better price within 12 hours. We will verify the website, ensuring the price is not part of any discounts or loyalty programs.

We have a zero tolerance policy for any form of abuse or inappropriate behavior towards our team (staff, neighbors, and our dogs) or other guests. This includes physical, verbal, or online abuse.
Our team is committed to being polite, helpful, and respectful of every guest’s individual needs. However, any form of aggressive behavior—whether physical, verbal, or online—will not be tolerated. This may result in the cancellation of your booking/group booking, removal from the premises, and, in extreme cases, police involvement.
Further actions that will not be tolerated:
- Causing damage, stealing, or failing to return equipment belonging to our team, the townhouse, or other guests.
- Being under the influence of drugs.
- Engaging in fraudulent activities while in Malta.
- Disrespecting Maltese culture and religious beliefs.
We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a safe and respectful environment for everyone.
Is the tap water safe to drink?
No, the tap water is not recommended for drinking. While it is unlikely to harm you, we advise against consuming it.
However, it is perfectly fine for brushing your teeth.
Can I book a special arrangement for my stay?
Yes! We offer various packages, such as daily fresh fruit or champagne in your room.
Just let us know your preferences, and we’ll do our best to make it happen!
What are the cancellation policies?
Cancellation policies may vary depending on the rate or dates of your reservation. Please check the cancellation terms in your booking confirmation.
Is the Backstage Townhouse child-friendly?
No, we welcome children! However, due to the charming yet intricate layout of our 200-year-old townhouse—with narrow passages, corners, and staircases—it is not suitable for young children.
For safety reasons, children must be supervised at all times. We recommend stays for children aged 10 and older.

Where can we get a coffee or tea outside of breakfast time?
Unfortunately, we don’t have a café or bar license yet. However, there are plenty of great cafés near the Backstage Townhouse.
We personally love Busy Bee for its amazing coffee, tea, and the best ice cream on the island!
Do I have a fridge in my room?
No, our rooms do not have fridges. However, we can arrange cooling options for you upon request and availability.
What is the procedure for arriving outside of check-in hours?
Please inform us of your flight details and arrival time so we can ensure you receive a warm and friendly welcome from our staff.
If you arrive outside our normal check-in hours (14:00–18:00), an additional fee may apply.
Is cooking allowed?
For the comfort and safety of all guests, cooking, open flames, or heating food are not permitted anywhere inside the house or on the rooftop terrace.
In rare cases, if the fire alarm is triggered, government fines can go up to €5,000.
However, if needed, our staff will be happy to assist you with heating up food, subject to availability.
We kindly ask you to be mindful that our townhouse welcomes guests from various nations and cultures. Please ensure your actions are respectful to everyone.
Is smoking allowed?
For the comfort of all guests, smoking of any kind (including vapes, cigarettes, shisha, and cigars) is not permitted anywhere inside the house, including on traditional Maltese balconies or near open windows.
Smoking indoors will result in a €100 fine per person and incident. In rare cases, if the fire alarm is triggered, government fines can go up to €5,000.
However, you are welcome to smoke on the rooftop terrace, as long as it does not disturb other guests or our team.
